||It's Spinal Tap -- with Karaoke!
(Comedy/Mockumentary 96 minutes, Not Rated)
Winner Audience Choice Award, Rebel Fest
Official Entry, Calgary International Film Festival
A TV journalist travels to the tiny town of Iopa, Iowa to document the National Karaoke Competition and finds backstabbing, bad singing, domestic discord, and hilarity among the rural contestants, which include a cute middle-aged couple in matching sweaters, a twenty-something diva with a tin ear, a Rat-Pack reject, and a petite Asian lady who blithely murders the classics of George M. Cohan. Meanwhile an overzealous preacher tries to stop the "evil Karaoke epidemic" threatening the world. Reverb is a dead-on parody of a worldwide cultural phenomenon.
